SJU Where to eat on campus
SJU Refectory
The Refectory is found on the ground floor of the Quadrangle. The handmade brick-lined walls (made and fired at Saint John’s in the late 1800s) create a relaxed and inviting atmosphere in this dining room. The Refectory offers buffet-style, all-you-care-to-eat meals daily, including entrees and complementary side dishes, a soup and salad bar, desserts and fresh fruit, many beverage options, and the famous Saint John’s bread.

- Breakfast: 7:15 a.m. – 10:30 a.m.
- Lunch: 11:00 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.
- Continental Lunch: 1:30 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.
- Dinner: 4:30 p.m. – 7:15 p.m.
Weekends
- Breakfast: 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.
- Brunch: 11:00 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.
- Dinner: 4:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.
Sexton Commons
If you are looking for a quick meal or snack, Sexton Commons Dining is the place for you. This dining room offers a variety of entrees, salads, beverages, snacks, and desserts for purchase a la carte. This facility is on the first floor of Sexton Commons and offers beautiful views of campus from its comfortable dining area.

Weekends
- 10:30 a.m. – 9:00 p.m.
The Schu
For coffee, cappuccino, or specialty beverage on the go, try The Schu, located in the Alcuin Learning Commons. This takeaway coffee bar proudly brews Caribou Coffee and also offers a small selection of snacks and pastries.

Dining Room Etiquette
To maintain a pleasant and safe atmosphere in the dining rooms, please follow these rules:
- Respect the rights of others by behaving responsibly while in the dining rooms.
- Shirts and shoes are required in all dining facilities.
- Please clear your dishes to the dish conveyor belt and dispose of trash appropriately.
- Please do not waste food. Take only what you can eat in the Refectory. Excess food is not to be removed from the dining room.
- Please leave trays, dishes, utensils, and equipment in the dining area.
- Rollerblades and other wheeled devices are not permitted to be used in Dining facilities.
