Teaching Assistant Program in France
Abby Goff (CSB ’22), Jack Scheck (SJU ’21) and Olivia Solano (CSB ’22) recently met up in Lyon, France, while on break from teaching English in their respective regions of France (Goff: Amiens; Scheck: Bordeaux; Solano: Grenoble). The three alums were accepted to the Teaching Assistant Program in France (TAPIF) during 2022-2023... and are dreaming about staying beyond... You can be an Assistant, too! About the Teaching Assistant Program in France (TAPIF)
TAPIF offers students the opportunity to work in France teaching English to French students of all ages.

Autumn Ayer ’23 wrote her ticket to a Fulbright award, with guidance and help from her mom and dad
Daughter of Bennie and Johnnie double-majored in English and French and is the latest of more than 50 from CSB and SJU in the past 20 years to earn a spot in the flagship international educational exchange sponsored by the U.S. State Department.
9 from CSB and SJU inducted into Pi Delta Phi while 3 earn senior awards and 2 head to France for 2023-24
Autumn Ayer, Stevie Dickison, Celeste Dickson and Cate Luna received honors from the American Association of Teachers of French. Dickison and Luna will join the Teaching Assistant Program in France.
On the 3rd of April, Chefs Mateo Mackbee and Erin Lucas, from KREWE Restaurant and Flour & Flower Bakery (Saint Joseph), joined the FREN352A class to discuss New Orleans creole culture and cuisine and lead students in a culinary workshop. On the menu: Maque Choux!... Laissez les bons temps rouler!

Eight new inductees of Pi Delta Phi, Rho Alpha Chapter
The French section installed a new chapter of the National French Honor Society, Pi Delta Phi.
Note
The French studies major and minor will be gradually discontinued beginning Fall 2023. Students who were enrolled at CSB and SJU prior to Fall 2023 will be able to continue in the major or minor and all appropriate opportunities will be available to them through Spring 2026. All students can continue to take courses in the French language sequence (111, 112 and 211).
