Financial Aid, Costs and Scholarships

Timeline

November 15, 2010
Our early action application date for scholarships means that scholarship decisions will be mailed by December 20 to all students who have completed an application by November 15. (For students applying after November 15, see our Application Timeline.)

December 15, 2010
If you are eligible for our Regents'/Trustees' Scholarship, this is the deadline to apply. Students apply for the Regents'/Trustees' and other academic scholarships by applying for admission.

January 5, 2011
If you are an artist, heads up. This is our final deadline for Art, Music and Theater Scholarship applications.

February 10, 2011
This is the final deadline for our Intercultural Leadership, Education and Development Fellowship applications.

March 15, 2011
This is the recommended deadline to apply for need-based financial aid, (grants, on-campus employment, student loans.) Please note: we still accept financial aid applications after March 15. Applying by March 15 gives you the benefit of receiving your financial aid award in time to schedule another visit to campus, talk with faculty or coaches, or meet with financial aid before making an enrollment decision by May 1. If you apply after March 15, the financial aid staff will work hard to complete your financial aid award and send it to you before May 1 if possible. To apply, students must complete these two forms:

  1. Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)—available online at: www.fafsa.ed.gov
School codes (required in Step 6 of the FAFSA):
    CSB (women) 002341
    SJU (men) 002379
  2. CSB/SJU Financial Aid Application— The Financial Aid Office will mail this form to accepted students. This form should be filled out as soon as possible after January 1, 2011 and following completion of the student and parents’ 2010 federal tax returns.
  • CSB/SJU will notify applicants of their need-based eligibility starting in mid-March. Awards are done on a rolling basis as applications become complete. Allow five weeks from the date of mailing FAFSA and the CSB/SJU Financial Aid Application for a response from the college.
  • Students do not need to complete the FAFSA or CSB/SJU Financial Aid Application if they only plan to apply for scholarships.

May 1, 2011
This is the national response date. Admitted students have a place reserved in the incoming class until this date, so it's important to send your enrollment deposit ($300) to us before May 1 if you plan to attend CSB/SJU. Because of strong interest, CSB/SJU are unable to guarantee enrollment to students who deposit after May 1.
