Community-Engaged Learning Program

The Community-Engaged Learning Program works with the students and faculty of CSB+SJU and organizations in the surrounding community to foster successful community-engaged learning opportunities that are relevant to what is being taught in the classroom and go beyond direct service to mutually beneficial partnerships. Community engaged learning experiences deepen students’ academic and civic learning while meeting the stated needs of community partners.

The Community-Engaged Learning Program provides students with opportunities to:

• Participate in community-engaged learning opportunities that incorporates ideas, theories, practices, and methods taught in the classroom.
• Accept, support, and appreciate diversity in all its forms.
• Complete the Experiential Learning Designation that is required for graduation.
• Grow as both a learner and an individual.
