Fall Move In Information

For students living in campus apartments, houses, and residence halls for the 2021-2022 Academic Year.

When do students move in?

Newly Enrolled First Year International Students:

  • Move in is Monday, August 23.
  • There are welcome activities for students and parents August 26.

Newly Enrolled First Year Students:

  • Move in is Thursday, August 26, at 8:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
  • There are orientation activities for students and parents throughout the day.

Newly Enrolled Transfer Students:

  • Move in is Thursday, August 26, at 8:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
  • There are orientation activities for students and parents throughout the day.

Returning Students (sophomores, juniors and seniors):

  • All residence areas open Saturday, August 28 at 8:00 a.m.

Arrivals before August 28:

  • All early arrival requests must be made to and approved by the Residential Life and Housing Office.
  • Students approved for early arrival must make arrangements with the Residential Life and Housing Office to pick up room keys during regular office hours (8 am to 4:30 pm, M-F) from Sexton 210 or from Life Safety Services, Basement Thomas Hall after 4:30 pm.
  • Students who are part of an athletic team or school sponsored activity which requires early arrival must have a coach/supervisor/coordinator submit a request on their behalf.

Early Return Request (CSB/SJU username and password required)

  • Campus services such as food service and other amenities are limited before hall opening on August 28.
  • Traffic into campus on move in days is significant and parking is limited. We encourage limiting travel to and from campus these days.

New Student Check-in August 26:

  • Upon arrival, new students should pick up their room key from their Resident Assistant (RA).
  • Students should thoroughly inspect their room and complete a Room Condition Report with their Resident Assistant. Students can ask their RA to make changes to the report as necessary before submission. (Students who move in early should connect with their RA as soon as possible to complete a Room Condition Report.) Failure to complete and submit a Room Condition Report may result in a fine.
