The past and present were recognized during the annual induction ceremony for Sigma Beta Delta at the College of Saint Benedict and Saint John’s University.
The present was represented by 38 current CSB and SJU juniors and seniors, who were inducted on April 16.
This was the 10th cohort of students to be inducted into Sigma Beta Delta, the highest national recognition a business, management or administration major can receive at a college or university with regional accreditation but not a specialized accreditation in business.
In the 10 years of the CSB and SJU chapter’s existence, 291 students have been inducted, including those this year.
The local chapter also continued its practice of honoring graduates who have been successful in the business, management and administrative areas. Anne Oberman ’82, CFO at CSB and SJU, and Dan McKeown ’85, CEO/president at Specialty Mfg. Co., were this year’s honorary inductees.
The newest cohort consisted of 21 SJU students and 17 CSB students. Broken down by class, there were seven seniors and 31 juniors recognized. By major, there were 23 accounting majors, 13 global business leadership majors and six finance majors.
To be eligible for membership, a student must rank in the top 20 percent of the junior or senior class and be invited by the faculty officers. CSB and SJU wanted to make the society more elite and required inductees to have a minimum 3.80 GPA.
Through the society, members can apply for scholarships, utilize networking opportunities and gain access to competitive scholarships.
Here is the list of the 2025 inductees into the Sigma Beta Delta honey society, listed alphabetically by class.
