Over 1,400 alums return to CSB and SJU for Reunion Weekend

June 30, 2025 • 2 min read

Over 1,400 alums and friends returned to the campuses of the College of Saint Benedict and Saint John’s University this past weekend (June 26-29) to take part in Reunion Weekend 2025.

This year’s festivities gathered graduates from class years ending in 0s and 5s. Those Bennies and Johnnies spent the weekend reconnecting with old classmates, attending alum college sessions, taking part in class gatherings and attending the all-class dinners and award ceremonies at each school.

There was also a bicycle ride Saturday morning, the annual Beach Bash at Lake Sagatagan on the SJU campus Saturday afternoon and a Reunion Concert featuring Big Toe & the Jam at Sal’s in St. Joseph Saturday night, along with a number of other events and activities.

“Reunion weekend is always special, but this year’s celebration was truly exceptional,” said Adam Herbst ‘99, the executive director of alumni relations at SJU. “The turnout from so many of our Reunion classes was inspiring, and the smiles on the faces of our Bennie and Johnnie alums said it all. There is nothing quite like seeing classmates reconnect, reminisce and make new memories together on the beautiful campuses where it all began for them.”

“Reunion is such a joyful weekend,” added Valerie Jones ’94, the executive director of alumnae relations at CSB. “It’s a delightful combination of nostalgia, catching up to each other’s current lives and reconnecting to these special places that played such an enormous part in alums becoming who they are today.

“It’s a jam-packed weekend of activities, good food, laughter and community on two of the most beautiful campuses in Minnesota. It’s such an honor and privilege to be on the team that gets to welcome everyone home on Reunion weekend!”

  • The two oldest CSB alums in attendance represented the Class of 1960, celebrating their 65th class reunion.
  • Alums came from as far away as France, The Bahamas and Auckland, New Zealand where 2005 SJU graduate Tago Mharapara lives and works.
