Doctor of Nursing Practice – Leadership

Prepare to lead the way

Are you ready to become a key player in today’s complex health care environment? The Doctor of Nursing Practice: Leadership track will empower you to rise to new levels of leadership. You’ll develop specialized expertise to become an agent for change in the evolving health care landscape. You’ll also be equipped to pursue roles where you will be responsible for managing nursing staff and serve as a source of knowledge for your team.

We offer three tracks to enter the program, each with a customized curriculum:

  • A BSN-DNP (for those with a BS degree)
  • A post master’s full-time option (6 semesters)
  • A post master’s part-time option (8 semesters)

BSN to DNP Eligibility

  • A 4-year nursing degree from an accredited program conferred prior to the start of the program
  • Cumulative GPA of at least 3.0
  • Current, unencumbered licensure as a registered nurse
  • Preferred qualifications for admission include a minimum 1-year of leadership experience (health care or other)

MSN to DNP Eligibility

  • A master’s degree in nursing from an accredited program conferred prior to the start of the program for Post Master’s to DNP option
  • Cumulative GPA of at least 3.0
  • Current, unencumbered licensure as a registered nurse
  • Preferred qualifications for admission include at least 1-year leadership experience as an RN

Tuition

Tuition is charged based on the number of credits taken per semester.

DNP Leadership: $830 per credit hour

You will also be charged a Program or Technology Fee each semester. In some semesters, you may be charged additional fees (such as simulation laboratory fees) that are associated with certain courses.

Personalized financial assistance is available through the financial aid office.

There may be the opportunity for tuition discounts if you are an alum, employee of CentraCare or the VA health system. There are limited opportunities for graduate nursing assistantships that could reduce tuition cost. Please contact the graduate nursing program chair for more information about tuition discounts or the graduate nursing assistantship.
