Biography

I have been at the College of Saint Benedict/St. John’s University in the Education Department for the past 13 years. Additionally, I have 16 years of experience as a Public School Art Teacher and, for the past 22 years, I have co-owned an adult foster care home with my spouse. My doctoral research focused on examining the factors that influence Elementary Art Teacher’s Retention.

In 2022, I had the honor of being recognized as the Higher Art Educator of the Year. My driving motivation is to facilitate communities of learners to make meaningful connections through art, thereby enhancing not only their own lives but also the lives of others.
