The College of Saint Benedict Koch Chair in Catholic Thought and Culture hosted its annual fall lecture featuring Kristin Heyer, Bernard J. Hanley Professor of Religious Studies at Santa Clara University. Dr. Heyer, author of Kinship Across Borders: A Christian Ethic of Immigration, analyzed dominant immigration frameworks in light of migrants’ concrete experiences and explored the resources the Catholic intellectual tradition brings to bear on this pressing moral issue. Her remarks concluded by sketching the contours of a Catholic immigration ethic for the 21st century.
