Wins by the Saint John’s football team and SJU and College of Saint Benedict soccer teams highlighted Family Weekend festivities on the two campuses Oct. 24 and 25.
The football team piled up 564 yards of offense en route to beating Carleton 49-10 before a crowd of 8,694 at Clemens Stadium Saturday afternoon while the Johnnie soccer team defeated Concordia 4-0 at Haws Field and the Bennie soccer team topped Concordia 1-0 on Senior Day at the CSB Outdoor Athletic Complex.
But Family Weekend wasn’t just about what happened on the field. There was also the choral showcase Friday night at the Benedicta Art Center’s Escher Auditorium, and a big crowd was on hand to cheer on the CSB volleyball team as it took on St. Olaf at Claire Lynch Hall.

Saturday morning brought a canoe paddle and chapel trail walk on and around Lake Sagatagan at SJU.
On Saturday afternoon, the CSLE Family Fall Festival offered amusement for all ages at the Clemens Fieldhouse on the CSB campus. Then, Saturday night, a variety of performers took center stage at the Swayed Pines Variety Show held at Bad Habit Brewing Co. in downtown St. Joseph.
But the most important thing was the chance current students had to welcome parents and other family members to campus, show them around and introduce them to the places and people that make their time here so rewarding.
