The College of Saint Benedict dance team recorded its ninth top-10 national performance in the past five seasons at this past weekend’s Universal Dance Association (UDA) National College Championships at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida.

The team finished ninth overall in the open jazz division with a score of 82.3667. CSB also competed in the open pom division.

Minnesota State-Mankato captured national titles in both the open pom and jazz divisions.

“We’ve been pushing our dancers all season to try new things and raise the bar on what we can accomplish,” first-year CSB coach Bailey Eakins said. “We have new coaches and new choreographers. So we knew when we stepped out on that floor that we were taking a risk.

“But I’m very happy with the outcome and I know it will help us going forward into the future. We have so much potential as a program and these were just the first steps.”
