Dr. Christiana Howell (she/her) is a choral conductor and singer residing in the Twin Cities. She is the Artistic Director of the South Metro Chorale and the most recent Director of Music at Vista Lutheran Church in St. Louis Park. Since moving to Minnesota in 2020, she has sung professionally with the Minnesota Renaissance Choir, Bach Roots, The Summer Singers, the University of Minnesota International Choral Academy, and St. Mark’s Episcopal Cathedral (Minneapolis). She holds degrees in music education, vocal performance, and choral conducting from Slippery Rock University (BM), Shenandoah University (MME), and the University of Cambridge (MMus), and completed her DMA in choral conducting at the University of Minnesota in 2025. She has conducted choirs across North America, Europe, and the UK, and most recently at St. Peter’s Basilica in Rome. Christiana is thrilled to join the music department at the College of Saint Benedict and Saint John’s University, where she will direct the Women’s Choir, All-College Choir, and teach private voice lessons.
