Biography

Rachel Melis, creates fine press and one-of-a-kind artist’s books, children’s books, prints, broadsides, drawings, and installations. She gives visual form to metaphors from literature, environmental movements, her family, and nature. She focuses on print, public art, and book projects to reach audiences of varied backgrounds and ages. Melis’ work has been chosen for numerous national and international exhibitions, collections, and featured in 500 Handmade Books, 100 Handmade Books (Lark Books), and Sculpture magazine.
