Our department has an exciting year of events in store for our students! We have three main recruiting events: CPA Firm Meet and Greet and Numbers Night in the fall, and CPA² in the spring. During these events, accounting firms and corporations will come to campus to recruit students who are interested in careers in audit, taxation, corporate finance, and more.

We also have an Advising event coming in October, where students interested in accounting or finance will hear from professors and current junior and senior students about opportunities available to our students, as well as recommended courses and extracurricular activities.

Furthermore, we have celebratory events coming in the spring. The Sigma Beta Induction Ceremony recognizes students who have demonstrated academic excellence. Our Scholarship Banquet is an exciting event where many of our students receive significant scholarships. Last year, 28 of our students received scholarships totaling $87,000.

Finally, we have social events! We will kick off the academic year with a department barbeque, where students from all years mingle with our faculty and enjoy great live music. We will end the year with a senior barbeque, where our seniors and faculty members gather one final time.
