Annual Crime and Fire Safety

The College of Saint Benedict and Saint John’s University publish an annual Crime and Fire Safety Report covering the most recent three years. This report is produced to be transparent with the community, and to be in compliance with the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Police and Campus Crime Statistics Act (Clery Act).

The report also includes institutional policies concerning campus security issues, such as those concerning alcohol and drug use, crime prevention and reporting crimes, sexual assault and other relevant matters.

Who should report crimes?

Any member of the campus community who falls victim to crime should report the incident to campus security (CSB Security/SJU Life Safety). However, some victims may be more inclined to report it to someone other than campus security. For this reason, the Clery Act requires all institutions to collect crime reports from a variety of individuals and organizations that have significant responsibility for student and campus activities. These individuals are designated as “campus security authorities.”

Who are our campus security authorities?

The list of campus security authorities at CSB and SJU includes, but is not limited to: campus security, RDs/RAs, FRs/CAs, deans of students, athletic directors and coaches, faculty and staff advisors to student organizations, study abroad coordinators, Title IX coordinator(s), student health center directors, student development staff, etc.
