Dr. Jacob Grewe – Low Brass

Originally from Ft. Worth, Texas, Dr. Jacob Grewe joined the music faculty at the College of Saint Benedict and Saint John’s University in 2018 as Adjunct Instructor of Euphonium/Tuba. In addition to his teaching duties at CSB/SJU, Dr. Grewe is Lecturer of Tuba and Euphonium at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire and is a tuba instructor at the International Music Camp where he also performs with the International Brass Quintet. He has also directed brass sectionals with the Wisconsin Youth Symphony Orchestra and maintains an active studio of private lessons students.

As an active freelance musician throughout Wisconsin and Minnesota, Dr. Grewe has performed with the Sheboygan Symphony Orchestra, Beloit-Janesville Symphony Orchestra, Kenosha Symphony Orchestra, Manitowoc Symphony Orchestra, and numerous chamber ensembles.

Dr. Grewe completed his doctoral studies in Tuba Performance with a minor in Musicology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He holds a Master of Music degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Arkansas. His primary teachers include John Stevens, Benjamin Pierce, and Tom Curry.
