International Women’s Day: International Student Services

International Women’s Day (IWD) is a global event that celebrates the social, economic, cultural, and political accomplishments of women. Every year on March 8th, people all over the world come together to mark this occasion by honoring women’s achievements, raise awareness about the need for gender equality, advocate for positive changes that empower women, and push for faster progress towards gender parity. International Student Services will be honor women on our campuses based on nominations from the CSB+SJU community. 

Bennies of Color Affinity Space: Women’s History Month
Wednesday, March 13th 6:00 pm – 7:30 pm at the Multicultural Center, CSB Campus

Advocates for Inclusive Mentoring and the Institute for Women’s Leadership will host an affinity space for Bennies of Color to gather in community to discuss their experiences at a PWI and learn meaningful ways to connect with others on campus. 

International Student Tax Preparation Workshop
Tuesday, March 19th, 10:00 am – 12:30 pm at the Multicultural Center, CSB Campus

Tax season is here!  The tax submission deadline is Monday, 15 April 2024. Every international student (F-1, J-1) is required to submit a tax return if they were in the USA during the previous calendar year and earned income.  This includes some scholarships, fellowships, and grants. Please join us for a J-1, F-1, tax filing workshop on Tuesday, March 19th from 10:00am-12:30pm in the Multicultural Center (Murray Hall 160). Tri-Alpha Induction Ceremony: Alpha Alpha Alpha Honorary Society
Sunday, April 7th  1:00 pm – 3:00 pm in Quad 170 (Founders’ Room), SJU Campus

We cordially invite you to join us on the 7th of April 2024, at 1 pm, at Saint John’s in Quad 264 to partake in this momentous occasion. This is an excellent opportunity to recognize the inductees’ academic excellence and witness the formal induction ceremony. Following the ceremony, First Generation Organization will be hosting a networking reception with first-generation alumni.

The History of LGBTQ+ Representation at the College of Saint Benedict and Saint John’s University: QPLUS

As a recollection of identity and a commitment to community, this event is tailored to retelling and revisiting the history of the queer student representation on these campuses. To inform and guide our actions today, we must first understand the foundation that student activists of the past built so that QPLUS could thrive. This panel will be tailored to retelling and revisiting the history of the queer student representation on campus featuring former members of various gender and sexuality student clubs and organizations: LesiBGay, PRiSM, and QPLUS. 

International Teatime: International Student Services

The International Student Services Team at the Multicultural Center cordially invites students to celebrate International Teatime 1-4pm on Friday, 19 April, in Murray Hall at the Multicultural Center (CSB). International Tea Day is 21 May and National Tea Day is 21 April. This day honors the consumption and production of tea and raises awareness about its cultural, social, and economic importance. This day is also a reminder that tea is an integral part of many cultures around the world and can be enjoyed hot or cold, sweetened or unsweetened. We plan to make Bubble Tea (Taiwan/Vietnam) and Switcha (Bahamas/Turks & Caicos) Join Us!

QPLUS Annual Drag Show
Saturday, April 20th, Doors Open at 6:15pm in Gorecki 204, CSB Campus

QPLUS’ annual Drag Show will take place Saturday, April 20th in Upper Gorecki! Get ready for great performances, great runways, and an even greater final lip sync. We’ll see you there! Doors open at 6:15 and show will began at 6:30pm. Please note, those attending MUST bring their CSBSJU ID for admittance. Guests must be accompanied by a CSB or SJU community member with their respective IDs.

Multicultural Graduation
Wednesday, May 1st 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm in Gorecki 204, CSB Campus

The 2024 Multicultural Graduation Celebration will be held on Wednesday, May 1st from 5:00 to 7 p.m. in Gorecki Center 204. Multicultural Graduation celebrates our graduating international, first-generation, racially diverse, and LGBTQ+ students at the College of Saint Benedict and Saint John’s University. The Multicultural Center honors the cultural intersections in our graduates’ lives and the communities to which they belong in one celebration. This serves as an intimate gathering for family, friends, and members of our beloved community to recognize the accomplishments, leadership, and impact of the Class of 2024. All students are invited to participate in this celebration. Students will be notified via email with more information. We ask that all attendees, both student and community, register in advance.  For more information:
