co-curricular event: Race/Ethnicity and Gender

Description: The disability community is one of the nation’s largest minority groups, with 1 in 4 US adults experiencing some disability. As a whole, people with disabilities experience significant health disparities, with these disparities being even greater for disabled women and disabled people of color. Recent federal efforts to improve disability health equity have produced mixed results, but progress is still being made through the actions of individual healthcare professionals and everyday people.
