Biography

I have taught geography and environmental studies at the College of Saint Benedict and Saint John’s University since 2006. My research focus is at the nexus of food, culture, and the environment. As part of my research, I have worked with family scale producers of organic food on more than twenty farms in France, Italy, and Portugal. I especially enjoy taking student abroad, and I have led semester long programs in France (twice), Italy, and Greece; and three-week programs in Japan and Thailand. I also have a passion for learning languages. I speak French, Italian, Spanish, Russian, Greek and Japanese at decreasing levels of fluency.
