You’ve seen pictures of the 3,300 acres of lakes, woods and hiking trails at CSB and SJU – now it’s time to fly here and see it yourself! Our National Fly-in Program is designed specifically for accepted domestic students from outside Minnesota.
OPTION 1
Grab a parent and fly to CSB and SJU for an individual visit
Student flight must be arranged by student or parent/guardian in case flight has to be cancelled/postponed.
Student must fly with parent/guardian who provide transportation to campus. The best recommendation is to rent a vehicle from the MSP airport as services like Uber or Lyft will be far more expensive.
Student/Parent/Guardian will need to submit flight receipt with cost of student flight and hotel receipt. CSB and SJU will reimburse for the student flight and up to two nights in a local hotel. The total reimbursement for student flight and hotel stay is not to exceed a total of $500. Reimbursement will be sent after the visit has been completed.
Parents – We highly recommend staying at one of these local hotels in the St. Joseph/St. Cloud area:

Sleep in a residence hall, eat in the dining halls, and meet current students, professors, coaches, and other prospective students. Once you select your weekend and submit the registration form, your admission counselor will connect with you to work out the details of your flight.

To be eligible for a Fly-In Weekend:
Student must apply to CSB and SJU, be accepted for admission and submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
Submit the Fly-in Weekend registration form for the weekend of your choice, along with the $100 flight reservation fee.
Admission staff will book your flight after student submits their Fly-In Weekend registration form.
CSB and SJU will pay for a roundtrip airline ticket for the visiting accepted student (not to exceed $500).
Admission staff will send confirmation and flight itinerary to student via email approximately two weeks prior to Fly-In Weekend.
While parents are welcome, most Fly-In Weekend participants do not have a parent accompany them. Parents/guardians who would like to visit with their student, generally choose Option 1.

Students from around the country consistently tell us their fly-in weekend was an important factor in their decision to attend CSB and SJU.
“The Fly-In Weekend at CSB+SJU gave me a genuine glimpse into college life, especially from the perspective of an out-of-state student. From exploring the Mall of America to enjoying my first wrap at McGlynn’s, every moment played a meaningful role in shaping my college decision. My host made me feel instantly at home, sharing details about campus events and her own experiences as an out-of-state student. The campus itself radiated a welcoming, vibrant energy that made me excited to envision my future there.”

“The Fly-In Weekend gave me an authentic look into the community I’d one day call home. From the very beginning, I noticed how welcoming everyone was. My host made me feel like a part of the Bennie and Johnnie family right away. He took the time to show me around campus and introduce me to people who shared similar interests from athletics to leadership opportunities. I remember walking across the campuses and being struck by how connected and vibrant the community felt. One moment that stood out from my fly-in was when a snowstorm rolled in and our plans completely changed. Instead of canceling the night, our hosts grabbed trays from the Refectory and took us out to one of the campus hills to go sledding. What could’ve been a setback ended up being one of the most fun and memorable parts of the trip. It showed me how students here make the best out of any situation and how easy it is to feel included. By the end of the weekend, I could picture myself at CSB+SJU thriving in the community.”
