Block Schedule Registration Updates

ADDING A CLASS

Since each day of classes represents a week of instruction under the regular schedule, the last day to add a class is before class on the Tuesday of the first week of the block. Students must attend class that second day of the course.

• Block A – Sept 1 (Add on Aug 31 via Banner Web registration, on Sept 1 by 8am through the Add Course form)
• Block B – Sept 29 (Add course by 8:00am through the Add Course form)
• Block C – Oct 27 (Add course by 8:00am through the Add Course form)
• Block D – Nov 24 (Add course by 8:00am through the Add Course form)

• Day 1 of the semester - no instructor consent need, register for courses using Banner Web Self-Service -  http://www.csbsju.edu/it-services/banner
• After Day 1 of the semester - instructor consent needed, registration must be made by submitting an add request form, available in the online forms:  http://www.csbsju.edu/registrar/current-students/student-forms.

DROPPING A CLASS

Block Courses

• Permanent drop during the first third of the course will result in no record entry
• Withdrawal during the second third of the course will result in a "W" entry
• Withdrawal during the final third of a course results in a failing grade, if appropriate

Full Semester Courses

• Day 1 of the semester: Drop a full-term course using Banner Web Self-Service -  http://www.csbsju.edu/it-services/banner
• Day 2 - Wee 4 of the semester: Drop from a full-term course by submitting a course drop from, available on the student forms page -  https://www.csbsju.edu/registrar/current-students/student-forms
• Week 5 - Seventeen (17) days before the end of classes:  Withdraw from the full-term course with a grade of 'W' by submitting a course withdrawal form, available on the student forms page -  https://www.csbsju.edu/registrar/current-students/student-forms
• Last sixteen (16) days of class:  If you withdraw after this date, your instructor will assign you an 'F' at the end of the semester, if appropriate

Students who fail to properly drop or withdraw from a course may be subject to a failing grade, if appropriate.
