Fall 2020 Programming Update

The College of Saint Benedict and Saint John’s University are working diligently to prepare our campuses for a successful academic year that promotes the health and well-being of the entire community.

The success of CSB/SJU’s plan to return to campus is dependent upon maintaining, and deepening, our commitment to care for others. Every member of the CSB/SJU community must do their part, in the spirit of Community Always, to protect one another. Now more than ever.

For alumnae, the rich tradition of returning to campus for Homecoming will be delayed as many fall sports are being planned for the spring of 2021. Alumnae have also come to rely on opportunities to gather at events, networking socials and gatherings with students. Sadly, but willingly in the name of making sacrifices for the good of the whole community, all in-person programming is cancelled or postponed through the end of Dec. 2020.

That doesn’t mean you won’t have an opportunity to gather with your Bennie friends virtually though. The CSB Office of Alumnae Relations and the CSB Alumnae Board are working hard to create a bountiful menu of options for you and your classmates to enjoy together. These opportunities will allow you to continue supporting current students during a difficult time in their college careers and remind you always that the Bennie sisterhood is alive and well.

Here are a few things you can look forward to:

  • An adapted Bennie Day celebration in a virtual environment.
  • The return of the Saint Ben’s @ Home series featuring voices and news from campus.
  • Opportunities to support current students through card writing activities, InterAction virtual meet-ups and more.
  • Opportunities to support prospective students through card writing activities, admission webinars featuring alum voices and other Enrollment Partners activities.
  • The ever-popular Month of Gratitude email reflection series.
  • New episodes of the Common Thread podcast, by Bennies for Bennies. Listen on Sound Cloud or Apple Podcast. 
  • Listening sessions, along with news and announcements about the work of the Boards of Trustees, the search for a single unified president for CSB and SJU and what it means to be a college for women.
  • And of course, if you’d like to arrange a virtual happy hour for your class, let us know … maybe we can help you out.
