Intercultural Communication – Jeanne Cook

Students in Jeanne Cook’s Intercultural Communication class are paired with ESL students and/or Bunkyo Gakuin University Japanese students in semester-long partnerships as a means of bridging cultures on campus.

Intercultural Communication – Jen Kramer

In Jen Kramer’s Intercultural Communication class, students work with people in the larger St. Cloud community to assist with English language learning, homework help, afterschool activities, citizenship test preparation, and job applications. Some semesters, the class works to conduct research for organizations that need more in depth information on specific culture-related topics.

Strategic Communication Campaigns

In the Strategic Communication Campaigns capstone course, students develop communication campaigns for an on- or off-campus client partner. They conduct situation and audience analysis, audience research and analysis, design outcomes and tactics, and propose plans for the client.

Social Media Marketing & Analysis – Kelly Berg

In Kelly Berg’s Social Media Marketing & Analysis course, students work with an on- or off-campus client partner to develop online marketing campaigns. Previous projects include: Developing an Instagram Takeover project for CSB/SJU, analyzing and providing recommendations for the United Way of Central Minnesota’s Instagram account, developing a social media plan for a new brand account, analyzing and creating recommendations for an influencer/ambassador program.

Organizational Communication – Karyl Daughters

In Karyl Daughters’ Organizational Communication class, students participate in a service-learning project through which they provided service to local organizations. Students choose to work at Saint Benedict Senior Community, Southside Boys’ and Girls’ Clubs or St. Cloud Hospital. Their service is split between individual volunteer work and team-based project consulting.
