The Saint John's University Bookstore will be hosting a book signing by four authors on Saturday, Sept. 24, as part of Homecoming festivities.

George "Bud" Sinner, former governor of North Dakota, and Bob Jansen, the governor's press secretary from 1985-92 will be signing copies of their recent book Turning Points: A Memoir. Sinner is a 1950 SJU graduate who served as governor of North Dakota from 1984-92. Turning Points tells the story of Sinner, a Catholic farm boy who studied for the priesthood but discovered that his true vocation was public service.

Peter Smith, a 1968 SJU graduate, will be signing copies of his new book, A Cavalcade of Lesser Horrors, along with his earlier book, A Porch Sofa Almanac. Smith is a 30-year veteran of Twin Cities advertising and a regular contributor to Morning Edition on Minnesota Public Radio. In his new book, Smith explores a few messy episodes from his life in a collection of funny, honest and moving pieces.

James Mohs, a 1968 SJU graduate, will be signing copies of his book The Fed Man, a new crime/mystery novel. Mohs grew up in Belgrade, Minn., and practiced medicine in Melrose, Minn., before retiring in 2006. He continues to reside in Melrose. The Fed Man is Mohs' first novel and is set in a small Minnesota town, where a serial killer has threatened the safety of its residents, causing the police chief to ask a retired special agent for help.

The book signings will take place from 11:15 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the SJU Bookstore, which is located in Sexton Commons on the SJU campus in Collegeville.
