Three employee recognition events were held in May to honor administrative and support staff from the College of Saint Benedict, Saint John's University and the Order of Saint Benedict.

Employees were recognized for retirement and years of service at the events May 8 (SJU Administrative), May 15 (Order of Saint Benedict Support Staff) and May 20 (CSB).

In addition, the Fr. Vincent Tegeder, OSB, Outstanding Administrator Award was presented to Lori Klapperich, assistant director of health promotion.

The award, named in honor of Fr. Vincent Tegeder, OSB, recognizes service and excellence within the Saint John's administrative community — someone who embodies the spirit of Saint John's, provides quality service and makes a powerful contribution to Saint John's.

“She is an excellent steward of resources and is someone to be counted on in both good times and challenging times,” said SJU President Michael Hemesath in his introduction to Klapperich. “A critical example of her leadership excellence is her ongoing use of assessment to critically evaluate her work and utilizing the data to inform program development and improvement.

“Through her committed leadership and influence, the Health Promotion student teams develop creative and meaningful programs and events to raise awareness for college health and to facilitate exploration of making changes for lifelong health,” Hemesath added.

The other nominees for the award were Fr. Eric Hollas, OSB (Institutional Advancement) and Jim Parsons  (library).

“Each has a strong commitment to their work, their coworkers and colleagues, our students and to the mission of Saint John’s,” Hemesath said of the three nominees.
