Elderhostel Offers Courses

ST. JOSEPH, Minn.- A variety of courses are available to Elderhostel participants at the College of Saint Benedict during the week of Saturday through Sunday, June 7-13.

Participants can travel vicariously to many worlds in the course, Theater and Performance Across Cultures. They also will attend Mary Chase's classic comedy, Harvey, playing at Park Square in St. Paul. Another course, Ethnic Foodways: Identity, Tradition, Celebration, will include visits to ethnic food stores in the Twin Cities. The fascinating Victorian era will come to life in the course, Overdressed Parlors, Temperance and Drama: Victorian Culture." Classes are taught by CSB/Saint John's University faculty members.

The Elderhostel program is open to people age 55 years or older, as well as their spouses or companions who are at least 50 years old. Elderhostel provides one-week experiences of campus life and academic stimulation for individuals who consider learning a life-long process.

SJU is also hosting an Elderhostel program Sunday through Saturday, June 21-27, and Sunday through Saturday, July 5-11.
