Blair Eckman

“As a future professional educator, I aim to bring the best resources possible to my students,” said Blair Eckman. For her, that means being a lifelong researcher, looking for helpful techniques and strategies for her students. She has traveled to Sweden and Finland to do comparative research on their education systems, relative to Minnesota’s. Research has also led her to combine her love of art and math to develop a passion for STEAM education (adding art to science, technology, engineering and math) – exploring the links between art and math. In addition to extensive in-classroom practicum teaching, she has spent a summer as a lead engineering teacher at an engineering/technology camp. Eckman has also served as an art teacher for adults with disabilities.
