History was made Monday night (March 20) when the College of Saint Benedict varsity lacrosse team played the first game in program history, falling 16-5 at Wisconsin-River Falls in a nonconference matchup.

First-year midfielder Ella Steinke entered her name in the record book, scoring the team’s first goal on a free position shot with 9:31 remaining in the second quarter.

"It felt awesome," said Steinke, who finished with two goals and an assist. "It was so much fun just playing with teammates that I've been practicing with for a while now. I think we did pretty well. Better than I expected actually."
