Dr. Adam Kluck

Biography:

Dr. Kluck comes to CSB and SJU from Virginia Tech most recently. He has led choral programs and conducted honor and professional choirs throughout the continent and abroad, including Wyoming, Wisconsin, Iowa, Virginia, Colorado, Toronto, Ontario, Canada and Paris, France. He has over a decade of experience conducting collegiate choral ensembles in addition to teaching conducting, choral literature, choral methods, and a host of other courses, and his conducting students have won competitions in multiple states.

In addition to his work with choirs, Dr. Kluck has enjoyed a multi-faceted career as a collaborative pianist since age fifteen, appearing in recital with colleagues from the Curtis School of Music, Juilliard, and even Grammy winners.

Dr. Kluck’s research interests include the choral music of Francis Poulenc, James MacMillan, and Dmitry Bortniansky. In addition, he has written about and given presentations on choral music literacy. He is currently working on a new critical edition of Margaret Bonds’ cantata, The Ballad of the Brown King, for Alfred Music.

Dr. Kluck received his BME with an emphasis in piano from the University of Northern Colorado, his MM in Choral Conducting from the University of Northern Colorado, and his DMA in Choral Conducting with a minor in collaborative piano from the University of Wisconsin – Madison.
