Why did you choose to study abroad and how did you decide on this program?

The program fit into my time schedule with ROTC. Additionally, it fits with my minor and covered four Integrations requirements.

Describe your overall study abroad experience.

It was amazing. I would go time and time again. The people I met were amazing and I will never forget them. They were a big part of what made the program as exciting as it was. The history and experiences were a one-of-a-kind thing that you don’t really see in the U.S. It is something I will always remember and always recommend.

Based on your experiences abroad, what are some of the benefits of going on a short-term program? How has studying abroad contributed to your personal, academic, and professional development?

I would say simply exposing myself to the different cultures and languages and way of life really broadened my reality. It gave me new insights on how to think and do specific things such as run a company or create friendships or navigate a completely different culture. I would say that I’ve grown in my ideas as a person and it’s helped me branch out to make new friendships and connections.

What advice can you offer for CSB+SJU students who are considering or planning to study abroad?

I would absolutely go if you can. You’ll make lifelong friends and you can’t beat the experiences and sites you’ll see. I would also say that it’s likely a once-in-a-lifetime thing and that the program by CSB+SJU is great at providing experiences and showing what that culture/country is about.
