Why did you choose to study abroad and how did you decide on this program?

I chose to study abroad in London for both the internship and the classes offered. I have always been in love with London and living there was always a dream of mine. My sister went abroad to London in 2020 and said it was a life-changing experience.

Briefly describe a specific cultural experience you had on your program that made a lasting impression.

During my Understanding Islam & The West course, my classmates and I went to mosques around London each week. Here, we met with the Muslim community and were able to learn about the Islamic religion and about their community in London.

Describe your overall study abroad experience.

It was the most amazing experience of my life. I learned so many lessons, gained lifelong friendships with my classmates and with other college students from the U.S., and gained independence.

Based on your experiences abroad, what are some of the benefits of spending a semester abroad? How has studying abroad contributed to your personal, academic, and professional development?

During my abroad experience, I was given the opportunity to have both an internship and to take classes to further my degree. The internship gave me better knowledge for my global business degree.

What advice can you offer for CSB+SJU students who are considering or planning to study abroad?

It is THE best experience for gaining personal and professional independence. I learned so much about myself and the world around me. I met so many new friends from both CSBSJU and from other campuses around the world.
