Dr. Karyl Daughters began teaching at the College of Saint Benedict and Saint John’s University in the fall of 2000. She is committed to providing experiential learning opportunities by incorporating service-learning and undergraduate social scientific research projects into her classes. Her teaching and research are in the area of relational communication, with a specific focus on committed romantic relationships. She loves collaborating with students on undergraduate research projects. Recent collaborations have resulted in studies looking at relationship issues that are particularly salient to young adults (e.g., dating and relationship labels, managing relationship commitment on Facebook, marriage decisions).
