Multicultural Student Services empowers and educates all students to intentionally develop mutually trusting and culturally agile relationships. We believe that learning to effectively navigate differences and new environments is an essential part of a liberal arts education.  Our Inclusion Visioning Statement calls us to integrate this priority into all aspects of the life of the institutions. Our services are available to all Bennies and Johnnies, including graduate students. Looking to connect? Feel free to reach out to Multicultural Student Services by email at [email protected] or call (320)-363-5094. The Multicultural Center is located in Murray Hall on the CSB Campus. Four students stand smiling in front of a red College of Saint Benedict and Saint John’s University backdrop. Two hold signs reading “Proud to be First” and “1st.” Celebration balloons are on either side.

Over 1/4 of our students identify as first-generation college students. CSB+SJU defines a first-generation student as any student whose parents or guardians have not completed a four-year degree in the US.

A diverse group of seven smiling people pose together outdoors on a sunny day. There is green grass and trees in the background, and everyone looks happy and relaxed.

Throughout the years, there have been International students from more than 15 countries, including the Bahamas, Brazil, China, Colombia, Ecuador, Ethiopia, Japan, Macau, Poland, Hong Kong, Rwanda, Taiwan, Trinidad & Tobago, and Vietnam.

A group of eleven smiling young adults stand together indoors, wearing matching black shirts with the colorful text “Intercultural LEAD.” Some flash peace signs, and small international flags are visible in the background.

The Intercultural LEAD engages and supports historically underrepresented, high-achieving first-generation college students who have demonstrated leadership potential and a commitment to personal and professional identity development.
