Wind Ensemble and Symphonic Band Concert

The CSB SJU Wind Ensemble and Symphonic Band will present the winter installment of their 2022/2023 concert series. Highlighted works will include Aaron Perrine’s AND SO SINGS THE TUNE WITHOUT THE WORDS, with inspiration from the Emily Dickinson poem, Hope is the Thing with Feathers, and Viet Cuong’s SOUND AND SMOKE, with both the title and concept of the piece derived from a line from Goethe’s Faust. Hot Sardines: Holiday Stomp!

Kick off the season with a rollicking, razzle dazzle celebration featuring Swing & Jazz Christmas favorites, along with original tunes, performed by this sizzling 8-piece band!

The Hot Sardines are on a mission to make old sounds new again and prove that joyful music can bring people together. Featuring horns, piano and a gifted chanteuse — as well as a wildly percussive tap dancer — the group tours across the nation and abroad, including performing with the Boston Pops and headlining at Lincoln Center.

Story Hill: Bethlehem

Join us for a heart-warming performance featuring folk duo Storyhill performing a special holiday show, playing songs from their latest album Bethlehem. Embracing the full depth and meaning of the Advent and Christmas seasons, these songs lean into the message of hope for a more peaceful world. A concert intent on bringing the spirit of the season to audiences of all ages, this performance will include reimagined Christmas classics, seasonal songs and originals from Storyhill's 30+ years of writing and performing together--all stitched together with their signature harmonies and a special string section.
