Joseph O'Connell
1927-1995

Joe, as everyone called him, managed to work in every medium an artist is allowed: stone and wood carving, welding steel, forged iron, drawing, engraving, clay, photography and paint. The retrospective offers visitors a glimpse of a small portion of what he produced over a career that lasted just 43 years.  

Joe spent twelve years working as artist-in-residence for the College of Saint Benedict and Saint John's University and his work can be found throughout the Benedicta Arts Center, Mary Hall Commons, Clemens Library and in Saint Benedict's Monastery Gathering Place.
