April 5: Commencement Message

April 5, 2021

Dear Graduating Seniors and Families:

Much has changed in our state since we announced our initial CSB/SJU commencement plans to you several months ago. We are grateful for your patience as we worked through the myriad of COVID-19 compliance issues that limited our traditional commencement plans.

We are pleased to announce that the College of Saint Benedict and Saint John’s University will hold in-person commencement ceremonies for the Class of 2021 at 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 15 (CSB) and at 2 p.m. on Sunday, May 16 (SJU), respectively.

Both ceremonies will take place outdoors at Clemens Stadium at SJU so that we may accommodate up to 2 guests for each graduate, in socially distanced seating. In case of inclement weather, the ceremonies will take place at the Haehn Campus Center Fieldhouse at CSB, with graduates only and no guests. Regardless of location, both events will be livestreamed on the commencement website.

To meet state guidelines, all guests will be required to pre-register for tickets to the outside commencement ceremonies. Tickets will be non-transferable and additional tickets will not be available. Guests will agree to abide by all COVID-19 protocols in place on campus on the day of the event. Graduates will receive additional information (including ticketing information) later in April. Information will also be posted on the commencement website.

We look forward to a tremendous celebration of the Class of 2021.
