A benefit-eligible employee is entitled to family medical leave (FML) for qualified family and medical reasons, including the birth or adoption of a child. FML is available after 12 months of employment and having worked at least 1,250 hours in the 12 months prior to taking leave. In addition to FML, benefit-eligible faculty and staff may receive paid parental leave.
