How did you find out about your internship/fellowship/etc.? I have been a founding member to this congregation since I was 6 years old.
What were your responsibilities at your internship/fellowship/etc.? Main responsibility was creating digital media content for the church to broadcast on their social media. I was responsible for creating and translating posters in both French and English. Every Sunday I was responsible for recording the church’s live broadcast. I also had to meet regularly with the church council to make sure we were following all the health guildelines for COVID 19.
What was the most beneficial aspect of your experience? The most beneficial experience for me was having the opportunity to working along side Congolese immigrants such as myself and working on the expansion if bringing the aspect of Christ to them.
What was the most surprising thing you experienced or learned during your internship/fellowship/etc.? Although churches get their most amount of visitors on Sundays there is SO much that goes into these services throughout the WHOLE week. People are really working around the clock to provide and deliver the word countlessly
How can you apply what you experienced at your internship/fellowship/etc. in the future? I will always remember how to talk and present my ideas first in simple matter so different audiences in the workplace can understand them fully. I feel more versatile in my delivery of ideas
What advice would you offer to future students interested in this experience? Go for it! It will give you a brilliant perspective on what it really takes to be in a certain field. You will learn so much about an industry. This opportunity will give you an insight on your own skills and the things you want to work on in the future for professional development.
