How did you find out about your internship/fellowship/etc.? A woman my mom works with helps out there and she brought it up to my mom because she thought it would be something I would enjoy.
What were your responsibilities at your internship/fellowship/etc.? Keeping documents and photos organized for use on social media. Creating ideas for advertising, devotional and bible lessons, and life skills to teach. Continuously support and encourage staff and children who came to the ranch.
What was the most beneficial aspect of your experience? The people who I worked with and got to know. I received a lot of important information and wisdom from them along the way. They have helped me recognize the talents God gave me and how to put them to use.
What was the most surprising thing you experienced or learned during your internship/fellowship/etc.? How much time and effort goes in to a non-profit, especially one that takes care of 22 horses.
How can you apply what you experienced at your internship/fellowship/etc. in the future? Through my internship I was able to learn a lot about myself and the gifts I’ve been given. Going forward I now have a better idea of how to use these gifts and the path I want to go on for a career.
What advice would you offer to future students interested in this experience? Soak up all of the advice and experiences you receive. Every moment is so beneficial even if you aren’t doing something directly related to what you are going into. You can learn something from every situation.
