Global Health Trek

What is Global Health Trek?

This is an opportunity for eight students (Sophomores, Juniors, or Seniors) interested in exploring the field of global health to travel with Peace Studies Professor, Dr. Jeff Anderson, and XPD Associate Director, Laura Hammond, to explore professional development pathways in the field. Applicants must apply by December 17 so they don't miss out on this exciting new opportunity.

Last year, the program was to include a four-day trip to New York City, NY and New Haven, CT, spanning April 2-5, 2020. Please stay tuned for upcoming dates and locations for next year's program. To recieve more information, please fill out this interest form

Program Details:

Participants will visit organizations that both specialize in global health services and fund global health issues, as well as tour a graduate school of public health. Last, students will participate in the Global Health & Innovation Conference at Yale University before returning to campus.

XPD will fund student travel expenses (including hotel, airfare, and ground transportation). Students would need to cover the cost of their own meals. Those selected will be notified by early January and will be expected to complete the following by January 6:

  • pay a $50 deposit, and,
  • provide all legal information required for XPD to reserve flights.
