Counseling Staff

Michael EwingMichael J.M. Ewing, Ph.D., LP (he/him/his) is a Counseling Psychologist.  He is a generalist with expertise in the broad field of college student mental health.  Mike is a BIPOC and LGBTQ+ ally and is experienced in working with young adults struggling with anxiety, depression, stress, adjustment, identity, relationships, trauma, and substance use.  He received his Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from the University of North Dakota. 

John AdixJohn Adix, Psy.D., LP (he/him/his) is a generalist and has been working in college mental health since 2003.  He received his Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology from the Minnesota School of Professional Psychology, Argosy University in 2006.  He is an LGBTQ+ ally and brings a multicultural and developmental lens to his work with clients.  His clinical interests include helping young adults dealing with worry/stress/anxiety, depression, academic skills, relationships/communication skills, trauma, and substance use.  John draws from the therapeutic approaches of Narrative Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy which can lend to brief and sometimes solution focused interventions. 

PCPC Call, MA, LPC (he/him/his) is a licensed professional counselor, with a master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and College Student Development. He is a generalist and a first-generation college graduate and an active ally for BIPOC and LGBTQ+ communities. PC is experienced in working with young adults wrestling with adjustment, anxiety, communication, identity development, relationships, stress and self-esteem/self-worth. His approaches include using humanistic counseling, cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), and mindfulness.

Jackie ElvehjemJackie Elvehjem, MA, LPCC (she/her/hers) is a clinical counselor, with her master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from the University of St. Thomas.  She is a first-generation college graduate and active ally for BIPOC, LGBTQ+ and underrepresented individuals and communities.  Jackie has worked in three different countries and learned to speak French fluently, which informs her multicultural and feminist lens for working with others.  Her clinical experience and interests include trauma (racial, intergenerational, intersectionality), identity development (racial, cultural, gender), healing relationships, and supporting others to live more congruently with themselves, in addition to working with presenting concerns of anxiety and depression. 

Jordan KingJordan King (she/her/hers) is a graduate student at Augsburg University in the Doctor of Clinical Psychology program. She is training as a generalist and believes counseling is a collaborative process. Jordan is excited to be working with young adults with a variety of concerns such as anxiety, depression, adjustment, stress/worry, academics, relationships, and identity. Her therapeutic approach includes using cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and Person-Centered Therapy.  

Leslie KoshiolLeslie Koshiol (she/her/hers) is the Administrative Assistant/Clinical Services Scheduler. Leslie has held this position at SJU for over 17 years, as well as having prior office experience in a high school setting.

Melissa KoshiolMelissa Koshiol (she/her/hers) is the Well-Being Center Office Manager.  The Center includes the Health Services, Counseling, Health Promotion, and Violence Prevention departments. 

Sarah MSarah Maile (she/her/hers) is the Administrative Assistant/Clinical Services Scheduler. Sarah has over 25 years of experience in the Health and Medical Field, as well as prior experience as a Veterinary Technician.

Alicia ReifAlicia A. Reif, Psy.D., LP (she/her/hers) is a Clinical Psychologist and Coordinator of Disordered Eating, Eating Disorders, and Body Image Concerns on campus. She graduated with her Psy.D. in 2013 from the Illinois School of Professional Psychology at Argosy University-Schaumburg. She is also a CSB alumnae. As an expert in college mental health, she works as a generalist in an outpatient setting. She is an LGBTQ+ ally and is experienced in working with young adults facing a multitude of concerns including anxiety, depression, stress, adjustment, identity, relationships, and trauma. Alicia’s clinical work incorporates a trauma-informed, multicultural, intersectional, developmental, and acceptance-based lens into her interventions with the aim to improve her client’s relationship with themself, others, and the world.

Barbara StokesBarbara Stokes, MA (she/her/hers) is a practicum counselor who is currently attending the Counseling Psychology Psy.D. program in St. Mary’s University of Minnesota. Barbara is a first-generation college graduate. She graduated in 2021 with her master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Liberty University. Barbara has enjoyed the opportunity to work with clients in rural Minnesota and she is looking forward to working with college students as they embark in their own journey. Barbara uses a multicultural approach, drawing on theories such as cognitive-behavioral therapy and solution focused therapy.
