Stash It, Don't Trash It!

The Sustainability Office wants to take your lightly-used dorm items, save them over the summer, and sell them back to you and your friends in the fall. In the awesome tradition of Move Out Madness and Sustainable Moveout initatives at colleges across the country, we collect all kinds of furniture, appliances, decorations, and more during the last two weekends of the semester. We work with Residential Life's Catholic Charities donation boxes inside the dorms to cover pretty much anything you might want to chuck. Then, in the fall, we put on the BIG SALE, where we sell those items back as a fundraiser for the office and a cheap furniture option for you! (Seriously, y'all -- $15 minifridges!)

WHO? Anyone on campus can donate. If you want to be extra involved, sign up for volunteer slots. Volunteers can sign up for an hour slot between 4-6pm every day of the donation drive to help move furniture from collection areas outside of dorms to storage.

WHAT? A donation drive that diverts (takes away) perfectly good food, furniture, and decor that students might otherwise have no place to donate. Pairs with the BIG SALE in the fall, when we sell these items back to you!

WHEN? The last two or three weekends of the school year.

WHERE? 10 Locations on campus, next to the big move-out dumpsters.
