What is the Green Office Program?

This is a program designed to support faculty and staff in all areas across our campuses work toward common goals and form sustainable habits. Teams that commit to the program will work through the Green Office Guide, learning and incorporating best practices to improve on campus sustainability. Although the steps are laid out, we encourage you to adopt the program in your unique way focusing on making a difference and fostering social, economic, and environmental change.

How do I Participate in the Program?

Participating in the Green Office Program is simple! Follow these 5 steps and remember to reach out to [email protected] with any questions.

  1. Familiarize yourself with the Green Office Program

Review this webpage and read through the Green Office Guide.

  1. Determine your team and appoint a leader(s)

Possibly one of the most important steps in the Green Office Program is appointing a leader or leaders that will take on the responsibility of keeping the office accountable and moving sustainable action forward.

  1. Complete the Green Office Assessment

This assessment is another tool that is intended to track input from your team while reading through the Green Office Guide.

  1. Meet with the Sustainability Office and implement best practices 

The assessment you completed with you team will be submitted to the Sustainability Office who will work collaboratively with your team to review and identify best practices for your office going forward. 

  1. Take Sustainable Action and Receive your Green Office Certification

Work with your team to implement sustainable best practices, meet 1-2 times a year to adjust goals, reach out to the Sustainability Office with any questions, and receive your Green Office Certification!
