Studio One is a literary and visual magazine published each spring by the College of Saint Benedict/Saint John's University. It's mission is to give new and established writers a forum in which to present their works.
What types of writing do they publish?
The magazine's focus is poetry, short fiction, essays, and all forms of reproducible visual art works. Submissions are open to all students on either Saint John's or Saint Benedict's campuses and to the general public regardless of regional, national, or interenational location.
What do Studio One members do?
Studio One accepts staff members from all majors to help select material for its annual publication. We meet once a week to judge submissions; meetings generally last about an hour. Layout design takes place in the spring.
Why chose Studio One?
This is a great opportunity to gain editorial experience or share your creative work with the literary community. A staff position is an impressive resume builder for students interested in publishing, editing or writing careers; and publication in a literary magazine is an important first step for aspiring writers.
