Sister Christine Rody

2022 Recipiant of the Ezekiel: Prophet of Hope Award

While working through the Cleveland Mission Team in El Salvador and her continued service in many capacities in the Diocese of Cleveland, S. Christine has exemplified what the Ezekiel award stands for by challenging those around her and striving for collaboration for all. She discerned her calling and joined the Cleveland Mission Team to serve the world church by serving in El Salvador at very tumultuous times. Upon returning to the states, S. Christine studied Canon Law and, upon completing her degree, continued to serve the people of the Diocese of Cleveland in the capacity of Canon Lawyer and then Judge. During her degree work, she paused her studies to serve the sisters of the Diocese of Cleveland as Vicar for Religious. In addition, she served as General Superior of the Vincentian Sisters of the Diocese of Cleveland, attending to difficult decisions involving the community, and continues her service to the Diocese of Cleveland by working with the Sisters of Charity of Cincinnati.

Interestingly, S. Christine was in attendance at the School of Theology and Seminary during the tenure of S. Mary Anthony Wagner. While she obviously promotes women in the church, the award committee also felt her commitment to building collaborative community shone strongly.
