The Christian Gospel: What should we expect from it, and what have we settled for?

Fr. Michael Patella, OSB

There are four Gospel books but only one Gospel message.  If we are churchgoers, we listen to a Gospel reading at least every Sunday; if not, we hear one less often, if at all.  Yet, some people have given their lives for the sake of the Gospel, even most recently.  What gives them the strength to do so?

Using the Gospel of Luke as the point of discussion, Fr. Michael Patella, OSB will introduce the primary theological message of the New Testament.  He will tackle issues dealing with the cosmos, evil, death, life, and salvation. What we sometimes hear as a flood of words has the power to transform us into a new humanity, specifically, the presence of Christ on earth.
