Housing priority is given to degree-seeking students, with secondary priority for non-degree students taking courses for credit. Beyond this, rooms are usually assigned in the order in which requests and deposits are received.
Monks who wish to reside in the monastery must obtain a letter from their abbot or prior requesting accommodations, addressed to the abbot or prior of Saint John's Abbey.
All residences are furnished, with internet and cable connections. Small kitchens and laundry facilities are available for student use. Small refrigerators can be rented for the rooms.
Current room rental rates are available from the director of admission. At the beginning of each term, students are billed for housing for that semester.
Huschle House is a traditional "four-square house" with four rooms downstairs (common spaces--living room, dining room, kitchen, den / guest bedroom and 1/2 bath) and four private bedrooms upstairs and a full bath with shower. There is a front entry with small hallway, a rear entry with mudroom, an open air porch (south) and a patio (east). A free standing garage completes the Huschle property. This residence is perched on the shores of Lake Sagatagan with trails and greenery surrounding. Across the road is the monastic apple orchard and apiary. It is a short walk from Huschle House to Emmaus Hall, our graduate school and seminary building.
Single Room: Single rooms are furnished with a bed, a desk with chair, lamps, a bookshelf, an easy chair, sink, and private telephone. Residents are expected to provide their own linens. Common bathrooms are down the hall.

Student rooms are open two days prior to orientation at the beginning of each semester. Early arrivals can be arranged, if necessary.
