Capital Campaigns
With the generous support of our alumni and friends, Saint John's has embarked on several successful capital campaigns over the years to address strategic priorities and capital needs.
The leadership, hard work and generosity of thousands of dedicated alumni, parents, corporations, foundations, faculty, staff and friends have made it possible for us to:
- construct new buildings and renovate or enlarge existing facilities
- purchase or improve land
- acquire furnishings or equipment
- strengthen Saint John's endowment
In the 1960s, Saint John's Abbey conducted its first capital campaign to raise support for the construction of the Abbey Church.
A decade later, Saint John's University initiated its first campaign to raise support for the Warner Palaestra and to establish an endowment for student scholarships.
Fast forward to this century when Saint John's announced the largest capital campaign in its history, One Generation to the Next. In all, the Abbey and University raised $168 million toward a $150 million goal.
The success of each and every one of these capital campaigns is the result of our dedicated benefactors. Saint John's is deeply grateful for your faithful and generous support.
