Haugen Field Naming Ceremony and Chang Tennis Complex Dedication celebrate SJU baseball and tennis

On a gorgeous Earth Day in Collegeville, hundreds of Saint John’s University alumni, parents, students and fans gathered to celebrate the legacy and future of Saint John’s baseball and tennis. The Haugen Field Naming Ceremony, honoring 40-year head baseball coach Jerry Haugen '76, was followed by the Chang Tennis Complex Dedication Ceremony, honoring Paul Winter ’61 and his wife, Dr. Lian Chang. Minnesota Public Radio’s 50th Anniversary Honored by Saint John’s

On Saint John’s Day, MPR was presented The Colman J. Barry Award for Distinguished Contributions to Religion and Society. MPR broadcast from campus on April 25, and Twin Cities PBS’ Almanac program visited with Bill Kling '64, MPR’s longtime president, and Gary Eichten '69, legendary MPR host.


A Poetic Final Gift from Fr. Mark Thamert, OSB

Saint John’s professor Fr. Mark Thamert, OSB, recently died of cancer. Service Event at Feed My Starving Children
Alumni, families and friends are invited to pack meals for malnourished children on Friday, May 19, from 5:45-7:30 p.m. at Feed My Starving Children in Chanhassen. The meals will be shipped around the world.

Classes ending in 2s and 7s will come back to campus June 23-25. See who's registered and sign up today!

Lunch and Cubs Game
Chicago area alumni and friends will gather for a pre-game lunch and Cubs game on Friday, June 9, at 11 a.m. at Sluggers in Chicago. From there we'll walk to Wrigley Field to watch the Cubs vs. Colorado Rockies. Cost is $74 for lunch and a game ticket.

Brandon Drazich '09 graduated from University of Minnesota Medical School. He will begin residency in emergency medicine at Washington University in St. Louis, Mo.
